What does GABA do?

GABA neurotransmitters work with receptors to lessen the response of the nervous system. Essentially, if your nervous system perceived something as a threat—even if it is not—the combination of GABA neurotransmitters and receptors can result in less anxiety. GABA is instrumental in helping humans to calm their nervous systems, which can prevent seizures, reduce stress, and regulate emotions.
